2015 Stand Up For Autism - WPA SUP Race on Lake Norman
The 2015 Stand Up for Autism Paddleboard race took place on May 9th, 2015 and it was a perfect day to support this very important cause. We achieved our fund raising goal of $10,000, and raised over $11,000 for the Ignite Foundation. Over 93 racers entered the race with paddlers traveling from Wilmington, VIrginia, and South Carolina. The paddlers ranged in age from 8 years old to 79 years old, and the recreational race had 70% of the racers with 30% in the elite class. Corey Taylor and April Zilg took the 1st place finish for the Mens and Womens Elite class with a cash prize of $250.00.
